Please Read Before Participating

These terms govern participation in ESL Global Network, including accounts, profiles, rooms, public feeds, photos, private messaging and links to live video services. In these terms, “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the operator of ESL Global Network under the SingleDigitNomad.com name; “you” refers to a participant.

When you expressly accept these terms, you agree to follow them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or participate. Nothing in these terms takes away rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow to be waived.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

Membership and participation are for adults aged 18 or older who can legally enter into this agreement. Do not create an account for a child or allow a child to participate through your account. We may restrict an account if we reasonably believe it does not meet these requirements.

Provide accurate registration information, protect your password and do not impersonate another person. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Notify the operator promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not share another person’s account or circumvent a suspension.

2. What This Service Provides

ESL Global Network is a community platform for language practice and social conversation. It does not guarantee instruction quality, language improvement, employment, qualifications, friendships, compatibility, a particular number of members or an immediate response.

Member profiles, activity indicators, photos, messages and location markers are not identity checks or endorsements. A member shown as recently active may be offline or unavailable. Unless expressly stated otherwise for a specific service, members are independent participants rather than our employees, representatives or agents.

3. Community Rules

• Treat people respectfully. Do not harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate against, exploit or intimidate another person.
• Do not post illegal material, sexual exploitation material, threats, scams, malware, deceptive offers or content that violates another person’s rights.
• Do not disclose someone else’s personal information, publish private messages without permission, or use photos or recordings without the necessary consent.
• Do not send spam, unsolicited commercial messages or repeated contact after someone asks you to stop.
• Do not scrape accounts, bypass security, interfere with the service or attempt unauthorized access.
• Follow room rules and applicable law. Do not use this platform to facilitate unlawful conduct.

We may remove content, restrict features or suspend or terminate access for violations, security concerns or legal requirements, subject to applicable law. Moderation may occur after content is posted. We do not promise to review every post, message or interaction.

4. Member Interactions and Personal Safety

Use your own judgment when communicating, sharing information, following advice, transferring money or arranging a meeting. Online interactions can involve deception, harassment, offensive content, unwanted contact or misuse of information. Take reasonable precautions and independently verify claims that matter to you.

Do not send money, account passwords, identification documents or sensitive information to people you do not trust. Any offline meeting, transaction or personal arrangement is between the participants. We do not organize, supervise or guarantee those arrangements unless we explicitly state otherwise.

We are not an emergency service. If there is an immediate threat to safety, contact the appropriate local emergency service. You may report community concerns through the operator’s published contact channels.

5. Your Posts, Photos and Other Content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You must own that content or have the rights and permissions needed to upload it and allow it to appear on the service. Obtain permission from identifiable people where required. Do not upload material that infringes copyright, privacy, publicity or other rights.

For content you submit, you grant us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, resize, format and display it as reasonably needed to operate the service and show it according to its visibility settings. This includes creating gallery thumbnails and display copies bearing site attribution. This license does not transfer ownership to us or authorize unrelated advertising use.

The license ends when the content is removed from active service, except for reasonable backup retention, legally required retention and copies others have lawfully received or shared. Removal cannot retrieve screenshots, downloads or copies outside our control.

Do not copy, republish or commercially use another member’s content without permission or another lawful basis.

6. Public Visibility and Privacy

Public posts, profiles, gallery photos and voluntarily shared location information may be visible to visitors and may be copied or indexed by others. Consider what you want to disclose before posting. Do not publish an exact home address or other sensitive location information.

Do not assume that online messages or video conversations are confidential. Data handling is subject to applicable law and any separately published privacy notice. These terms are not a substitute for a privacy notice and do not authorize undisclosed collection, use or sharing of personal information.

7. Video Chat and Third-Party Services

Links may open services operated by third parties, including video platforms and map providers. Those services may have their own terms, privacy notices, account requirements, permissions and technical restrictions. Review them before use.

We do not control third-party availability, security practices, content or participant behavior. Access to a video room is not a guarantee of supervision or verification. Do not record, screenshot or redistribute a conversation without all permissions required by law and the people involved.

8. No Professional Advice

Content is provided for general discussion and language practice. It is not a substitute for qualified medical, legal, financial, immigration, employment or other professional advice. Verify important information independently and consult an appropriate professional before relying on it.

9. Service and Warranty Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or noninfringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, accuracy of user content, secure behavior by other participants or preservation of every upload.

We may update, change or discontinue features. Keep your own copies of content that matters to you. This disclaimer does not exclude warranties or obligations that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator and its personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits, opportunities or data, arising from the service, user content, third-party services or interactions between participants.

To the extent a financial liability limit is lawful, our total aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid us for the service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not exclude or limit liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where limitation is unlawful, or any other liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer protections remain in effect.

11. Responsibility for Your Violations

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify the operator against reasonable losses, damages and legal costs arising from a third-party claim caused by your unlawful content, infringement of another person’s rights or material violation of these terms. This does not apply to losses caused by our own wrongdoing or to obligations the law does not permit to be imposed on you.

We will provide reasonable notice of an applicable claim and a reasonable opportunity to participate in its defense. No settlement may impose a nonmonetary obligation on you or require an admission by you without your consent.

12. Ending Participation

You may stop participating at any time. Use available account and content controls or contact the operator about account closure. We may restrict or end access as described in these terms, subject to applicable law.

Ending participation does not cancel responsibilities arising from earlier conduct. Provisions concerning ownership, existing claims and lawful liability limitations continue to apply where appropriate.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated through a reasonably prominent notice or other appropriate channel. Where required, we will obtain renewed consent. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights or apply to an existing dispute without a lawful basis.

14. Disputes and General Provisions

Contact the operator first if you want to try to resolve a concern informally. This is not a mandatory barrier to bringing a claim, seeking urgent relief or meeting a legal deadline. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive access to courts.

Applicable law and court jurisdiction will be determined by the relevant legal rules, including mandatory protections available where you live. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent lawful. Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive it on another.
